Report: Central School District spent $8,437 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Central School District 51 was up 10.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Tazewell County school district spent $7,659 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $8,437 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 1,274 to 1,406 students over the same period.

Central's spending in 2019-20 was 41.8 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
