Report: Carterville School District spent $9,785 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Carterville Community Unit School District 5 was up 26.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Williamson County school district spent $7,752 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,785 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,255 to 2,151 students over the same period.

Carterville's spending in 2019-20 was 32.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
