Report: Riverton School District spent $10,617 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Riverton Community Unit School District 14 was up 32.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Sangamon County school district spent $8,030 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,617 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 1,427 to 1,435 students over the same period.

Riverton's spending in 2019-20 was 26.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
