Report: Altamont School District spent $10,494 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Altamont Community Unit School District 10 was up 17.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Effingham County school district spent $8,920 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,494 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 761 to 646 students over the same period.

Altamont's spending in 2019-20 was 27.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
