The Wyoming Community College Commission has introduced a new dashboard that tracks dual and concurrent college enrollment among high school students in the state. The dashboard is part of the Statewide Longitudinal Education Data System (SLEDS) initiative, which aims to provide accessible data on education trends.
The tool offers information such as the number of high school graduates participating in dual or concurrent credit programs, the average credits completed, and the most popular courses taken across Wyoming school districts. It also shows how many students continue their education at a Wyoming community college or the University of Wyoming after graduation.
Dr. Laurel Ballard, Executive Director of the Wyoming Community College Commission, said, “This dashboard highlights how dual enrollment is a vital strategy for Wyoming families. It visualizes the significant savings in both time and tuition costs for parents and students to smooth the path for those aspiring to complete higher education.”
Dicky Shanor, Chief of Staff at the Wyoming Department of Education, stated, “This new dashboard provides evidence that offering early college opportunities in high school improves student outcomes. Dual enrollment is an effective tool for increasing student achievement and opening doors to post-secondary success for Wyoming students.”

SLEDS represents a collaboration between several state agencies: the Wyoming Community College Commission, community colleges across Wyoming, the Department of Education, Department of Workforce Services, University of Wyoming, and Department of Family Services. The project’s goal is to integrate data systems to better understand and improve educational and workforce results for students in Wyoming.
