The Maryland State Board of Education will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, December 9, beginning at 9 a.m. The session will take place at the Nancy S. Grasmick State Education Building in Baltimore.
According to the announcement, the agenda includes updates on student enrollment and attendance, as well as information about the strategic plan for both the Maryland State Department of Education and the State Board. Board members are also scheduled to review draft regulations concerning public charter schools, discuss a proposed vision for Career and Technical Education (CTE) in Maryland, and examine the final report from the Maryland Accountability Advisory Committee.
The board is inviting public comment during this meeting, both in person and virtually. "Registration is limited to 15 individuals in total on a first-come, first-served basis. Up to 10 individuals are welcomed in the morning and five in the afternoon. Once the maximum number is reached, additional individuals may be placed on a waiting list," according to officials. Registration closes Friday, December 5 at 11:59 p.m., and those interested must complete an online form. Each speaker will have three minutes for comments, which will be monitored by staff.
