Report: North Chicago School District spent $16,119 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at North Chicago Community Unit School District 187 was up 7.4 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Lake County school district spent $15,010 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $16,119 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 3,676 to 3,319 students over the same period.

North Chicago's spending in 2019-20 was 11.2 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
