Report: Staunton School District spent $7,591 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Staunton Community Unit School District 6 was down 8.8 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Macoupin County school district spent $8,322 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $7,591 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 1,273 to 1,288 students over the same period.

Staunton's spending in 2019-20 was 47.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
