Report: Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley School District spent $13,806 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Community Unified School District 5 was up 32.8 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Ford County school district spent $10,397 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,806 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,045 to 999 students over the same period.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley's spending in 2019-20 was 4.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
