Report: Zion-Benton School District spent $15,869 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Zion-Benton Township High School District 126 was up 11 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Lake County school district spent $14,297 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $15,869 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,737 to 2,489 students over the same period.

Zion-Benton's spending in 2019-20 was 9.5 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
