Report: Marengo-Union Elementary School District spent $10,650 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Marengo-Union Elementary Community School District 165 was up 14.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Mchenry County school district spent $9,322 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,650 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment remained unchanged over the same period, with 1,036 students.

Marengo-Union Elementary's spending in 2019-20 was 26.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
