Report: Monticello School District spent $11,561 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Monticello Community Unit School District 25 was up 21.9 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Piatt County school district spent $9,482 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,561 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 1,585 to 1,613 students over the same period.

Monticello's spending in 2019-20 was 20.2 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
