Spending per pupil at Maywood-Melrose Park-Broadview School District 89 was up 47.9 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $9,415 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,923 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 5,157 to 4,690 students over the same period.

Maywood-Melrose Park-Broadview's spending in 2019-20 was 3.9 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
