Report: Coal City School District spent $13,755 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Coal City Community Unit School District 1 was up 3.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Grundy County school district spent $13,258 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,755 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 2,119 to 2,175 students over the same period.

Coal City's spending in 2019-20 was 5.1 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
