Report: Thornton Fractional School District spent $18,220 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Thornton Fractional Township High School District 215 was up 26.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $14,441 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $18,220 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 3,450 to 3,356 students over the same period.

Thornton Fractional's spending in 2019-20 was 25.7 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
